02/04/2008

Boost for Bromsgrove Technology Park as 75,000 sq ft (7,000 sq m) business unit scheme gets the go ahead...

Bromsgrove Technology Park
Bromsgrove Technology Park
Acting on behalf of Chase Commercial, architect and master-planner Crouch Butler has successfully gained detailed planning consent from Bromsgrove District Council for a 75,000 sq ft (7,000 sq m) scheme of small business units at Bromsgrove Technology Park, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Parking for 188 cars is also included.

The scheme provides highly flexible space suitable for a mix of office, workshop, storage and distribution functions. The buildings have been designed along simple, crisp lines and are structured to allow the insertion of mezzanine floors, either initially or at a later date.

Chase Commercial started development of all 75,000 sq ft in March. Atisreal and Phoenix Beard have been appointed agents and are to market units from 2,368 sq ft (220 sq m) to 16,149 sq ft (1,500 sq m). It is anticipated that the first units will be available for occupation this autumn while the whole scheme should be completed by the end of 2008.

Bromsgrove Technology Park
Owned by PXP (a joint venture between local RDA Advantage West Midlands and Langtree Developments), Bromsgrove Technology Park is a strategic site in the West Midlands Central Technology Belt. The Central Technology Belt is a high-technology corridor linking Birmingham to South Worcestershire via the A38 and M5 whose aim is to stimulate high-technology industries on land previously used by motor manufacturing and related industries. The 22.7 acre (9.2 ha) Park, which is sited on land previously occupied by United Engineering Forgings, was launched in 2006 and has outline planning permission for a mix of office and business space. Current developments at Bromsgrove Technology Park include Bromsgrove Basepoint Business Centre, a serviced office centre with workshops which opened in September 2007, and Aston Court, a 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) two phase development by West Midland Contracts, which is currently under construction.
