The Manchester office of HKR Architects, the up and coming international architecture and design practice, is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigel Jacques who joined as a board director at Easter.

Previously a board director with Carey Jones Architects, and prior to that the London office of HOK International, he brings a wealth of experience from high profile projects throughout the UK and Europe. Whilst at Carey Jones, Nigel sat on the regional committee for the British Council of Offices (BCO).

Since HKR opened the doors of its Manchester office two years ago it has grown to a team approaching 40, a turnover in excess of £3.5 million and is fast gaining recognition as the architectural practice of choice for commercial developers in the region.  In February, HKR was named ‘Consultant of the Year’ by Property Week at its second North West Property Awards and last month during MIPIM 2008 HKR’s design for Argent plc’s The Hive – what will be Manchester’s greenest office building – was awarded a commendation in the ‘offices’ category of the Future Projects Awards.

Nigel commented: “This is an important and exciting career move for me. HKR is a progressive international practice that is going places and I’m looking forward to playing a major role in its strategic direction.”
