Acknowledging rural architecture

Lower Mill Estate wins two Daily Telegraph Your New Homes Awards...

Lower Mill Estate was always set up with four things in mind: to introduce imaginative, modernist architecture into a rural setting, to protect and enhance the natural environment, to engineer a harmony between residents and wildlife, and to protect the local and wider ecology.

The project’s success in achieving these objectives has now been nationally acknowledged with the presentation of two awards in the Daily Telegraph Your New Homes Awards.

Lower Mill Estate won awards for Best Architectural Innovation, and Best Waterside Development. Ben Derbyshire, a member of the judging panel and partner in HTA Architects (designers of diverse developments extending from small housing blocks to whole-area regeneration projects) said: “Richard Reid and his team of architects have set a new agenda for others to follow by designing a series of contemporary houses in a landscape setting that are both contemporary and highly aspirational. The precedent is sure to appeal to the wider market as the development becomes more widely known”.
