All components of the system can be supplied in a variety of finishes to provide corrosion resistance and to meet the demanding aesthetic requirements of many architectural applications. Ancon’s stainless steel tension system is now supplied with isolation materials as standard, which enables stainless steel tie bars to be fixed to a connecting plate of a dissimilar metal. By separating the two metals, bi-metallic corrosion is avoided.

Tie bars are increasingly being used in structures and buildings as an architectural as well as a structural element.
