At European Heritage we made our name with natural stone products, imported from all over the world and these still form a significant part of our business.

One of our best sellers is the range of high quality slates that we import from Brazil. These are very superior quality - fine textured and not very riven. All tiles are calibrated to virtually the same thickness - only 10 mm, even for the 60x60 size (whereas large slabs of Chinese slate have to be 25-30 mm thick). They are supplied honed or riven and come in four colours - black, grey, green and purple - and five sizes up to 60x60mm.

We also stock a huge selection of limestone, travertine and marble – plus our new range of 30mm thick exterior tiles in travertine and slate.

However, there has been a marked switch over the last year or so towards stone-effect porcelains. Computerised manufacturing methods for porcelain tiles have become so sophisticated that no two tiles come out exactly the same. We now find that these tiles are outselling the natural stones, because of their durability and the total lack of maintenance required. Once installed, in many cases it is difficult to tell them apart from natural stone.
