Pilkington glass is a primary choice

Pilkington Activ self-cleaning glass has been installed into the ribbon windows of the focal and distinctive angled roof rotunda that lies at the centre of the Narborough Road Primary Care Centre in Leicester, with the windows encircling the top to flood the reception area below with natural light. These bespoke windows comprising inward opening windows with automated actuators, were designed by Sapa Building Systems and fabricated and installed by Bonam and Berry, with Pilkington Activ specified to provide a low maintenance option. Graham Hurrell, director of Specification Sales at Sapa, explains, "Using Pilkington Activ glass helped us to value engineer the window specification and in the long run, has helped to reduce the overall cost from the architect's proposal. Using the glass enabled us to devise a less complicated opening mechanism as we could eliminate from the design the need for cleaning."
