An SAS International chilled ceiling solution has been used to help combat the heat levels generated from the special hospital equipment used in the Intensive Care Neo-natal Department at Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick. The radiant chilled ceiling panels use water as a cooling medium which removes heat from the Neo-natal Unit's wards as it flows through the system. The chilled ceilings work by radiating energy (cooling) downwards, this means there are no perceptible air movement and noise levels to contend with.
