Surespan supplies fire hydrant access hatches for St Pancras Station

Surespan has manufactured and supplied all the stainless steel fire hydrant access hatches throughout the new St Pancras International Station. The HIAC hatches were designed with a terrazzo infill to complement the station platform’s surface and allow passengers to walk over them. Although unnoticed by passers-by, they are easily recognisable to the fire service when they are required to gain access to the hydrants below. An integrated handle and gas assisted spring opening allows the fire service easy access in case of emergency and to carry out essential maintenance. Marketing director Graham Lewis comments: “We are extremely proud to be associated with such a prestigious large-scale transport project.”
