Alfa Laval makes life a little greener
Ireland's first major District Heating (DH) system is currently taking shape on Carlin Hall Development in Dundalk with input from Alfa Laval. With an ambitious target of 90% lower emissions, 30% more energy efficiency yet 30% lower energy costs, Carlin Hall is being developed as one stage of a major project called the Dundalk Sustainable Energy Zone; an area of around 4k2 which will encompass housing, schools, hospitals and businesses, and act as a focus for sustainable energy initiatives. Individual control of water and heating temperatures will be provided by a Cetetherm Mini sub-station which also incorporates two Alfa Laval Brazed Heat Exchangers, one to heat water for the radiators and the other to heat up water for the domestic hot water supply.
